Got the plastic in the mail today!!!!

The strait facts: Live in Dallas county, just moved back from NY.
Took CHL class: 8/15
Mailed in info packet: 8/16
Application process initiated/ PIN sent: 8/28
Application completion notification: 10/20
PLASTIC IN HAND: 10/24
Pistol shopping: right now! gotta run waiting room, but I'm out! Good luck all.

Let me take this chair right here,
I took my class on 8/14 and mailed my app certified on 8/15. Received confirmation of signature on 8/16. Called on 10/9 to verify status. The woman who is handling my app. said all of the processing had been completed they were just waiting on the licenses to arrive from the 3rd party vendor they use. I was told she should receive my license the week of 10/13 and to allow 2 weeks to receive it. One week left, if I dont receive by Halloween, will call back. She did mention that there are about 10 people on staff right now and each of them are working about 100 apps at any given time. I guess we will see.

my instructor told us that we should expect up to a 4 month wait due to heavy influx of applications..... so All I Want For Christmas is My CHL.......

just got off the phone with the DPS.... still processing..... ughhh....

About a 10 week wait. for renewal. I guess they're getting faster.

Well Guys, Plastic is in hand thanks to the mailman today!!!! I'm outta the waiting room and off to carry my weapon! I'm off for a Wally Walk tonight!

Im getting more and more eager to get my plastic as I see all of you getting yours that submitted around the time I did.

C'mon DPS.......it seems as though the August people are dropping like flies.....I have never wanted to be a fly so bad in my life....

I'm really hoping it shows up in the mail tomorrow, I've been walking around with my cellphone in the holster all day to get used to the feel!

This probably won't make you feel any better, but my husband's application is still processing, though the website shows mine is complete. (Maybe in the mail today or next week....)

My application was turned in August 1st and it still says "Processing Application". I see people around here getting theirs in the mail when they turned theirs in August 15th.....I don't get it...

....the fact that August applicants are getting their plastic is both good and bad news....very frustrating and ridiculous...Houston is the 4th largest city in the US, and they can't seem to get their stuff together....Ike is no longer an excuse!!!!

I am nowhere hear houston lol. I am in DFW, namely Arlington.
