I have a 16 YO I would like to bring, however his seriousness in regards to weapons has not given me much confidence. I want to bring him to the range but he needs to sit with me and learn a few basic safety items first. He has yet to take time from his life to learn. So I will bring the wife and
20 month old and hope the wife gets a chance to shoot a .380 or 9mm she has fired my .45(G21) which is a bit large for her hands.
You may want to reconsider bringing the infant. The range is outdoors and parking is close to the firing line. You need good hearing protection the moment you get out of your vehicle. I can't think of a way to keep a child of that age safe from potential hearing damage unless your wife stays at the office with him or her - and that wouldn't be much fun for the wife.

I am out.

Unless I want to risk a repeat surgery. I hope everyone has fun.

Bummer--but much better than a repeat surgery!

I may be out as well. Doing contract work for a large company and there may be a critical need for my services this weekend. Just heard rumors/hints today, so it may just be someone stirring the pot, but the situation sounds legit......if they offer the work, I'll work. Otherwise I'll be at Elm Fork....just can't pass up the money, times being what they are and all......

I thought I read they had a play area there for kids.

Yes, they do. And they make hearing protection small enough for babies, too.

LUNCH COUNT
I'm going to cut off voting for a restaurant on Thursday afternoon at 4 PM so I can give the restaurant enough advance notice. If I call the winner and they have a problem with it, I'll just use the other as a back up. I have 5 votes for Mercado Juarez and 3 votes for Genghis Grill so far.
I know there's no way we could make breakfast, as much as I'd like to. We're planning to go to lunch.
I'll have name tags and sharpies available. Does anyone have a source for some scrap paper or little note pads or anything like that? It would be good to be able to jot things down while there.

I've got some notepads left over from a car club event. I'll throw them in my truck and bring them.
Happy Trails! N

I had planned to participate and looked forward to meeting everyone, but as the date gets closer I have just too much going on to make the trip. Maybe another time -- you all have fun!

Mercado, yum!
I'm a definite maybe.
I'll bring my taurus pt-1911, bersa 380, springfield xd-40sc, and springfield xdm-45. If there are any new shooters, I can also bring my buckmark 22.
Hoi, I also have a couple of shoulder holsters I was going to bring, but I'm left-handed.

Mercado Juarez it is!
I'd love to see your shoulder holsters! It'll give me a good idea of how they work, where they go, how to put them on, what I might like or not like, etc. The right or left issue is easy enough to address at the
next stage of narrowing things down and trying specific holsters I might like on.
