Attorney for Sante Fe HS shooter wants competency hearing. They plan on an insanity defense. Too bad his parents didn’t sense that about him.
One commentor suggested he be put on suicide watch.

Attorney says client will be ruled incompetent to stand trial.
Again to bad his parents didn’t notice this about him and get him treatment. Or lock up their guns.

Shooter transferred to a high security mental health facility.
Shame on the parents. Your kid is going crazy, you get him no help and you keep ammunition and guns in the house where he can get to them.

Well I need to make a correction. They may not have kept ammunition in the house.
He may have bought it on line, which of course he can’t do because he was just 17. And it’s illegal to buy ammunition when your 17.
And now we have a lawsuit against an on line ammunition seller in connection with the school massacre.

Jury finds parents not liable for shooting. Lucky gunner found liable 20%, shooter 80% liable. Awarded $300 million. LuckyGunner already settled, will owe no more.
Kept guns locked up with keys hidden. Kid found hidden keys. Kept mental illness hidden jury decides.

“We respectfully disagree with the outcome. We believe that parents should safely store their guns, we don’t believe that these parents did,” said McGuire. “If we can show that if you don’t safely store your guns if you don’t get your child’s mental health when the red flags are there, then lawyers such as ourselves are going to file a lawsuit, and we are going to put this in front of a jury.”
When I read this it says to me that despite the obvious fact they did store them responsibly we are still going to punish you by taking you to court and making you pay an enormous amount of money. To me, that sucks and smacks of ethical/moral depravity.
