New to the forum and thought I'd start with good news:

02/05 Texas CHL received my forms packet.
03/26 Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing

Seven weeks to Manufacturing - I guess I can't complain too loudly. Maybe now I can quit checking the site every 15 mintues!

Thanks for the Post Greg. I have a question; when did you have your Finger Prints done, and mail in your packet? I mail my packet Feb 5th, but they didn't show they received it until Feb 28th. I'm still waiting for the completion of the background review.

Three days to do go green on paperwork, do background check, manufacturing pending, then manufacturing. Might get it in under 40.

I had my fingerprints taken the day before I mailed in my packet. It took nearly 4 weeks for the website to show that my file had even been received (but I sent the packet "return receipt requested" so I knew they had it). I feel your pain but be patient...they're working through a big stack down there.

Thanks Greg. It has been a long wait. I look for it all to go green any day now.

3/30 Mailed. They already had my prints and such, but received my completed paperwork on Feb. 21. Looking at 39-40 days total.

Took class at Arms Room Feb 2
Mailed materials Feb 4 Priority Mail
Received by DPS Feb 6
Entered into system Feb 26. For them, thats when the clock started.
Still waiting on background check to clear.
Hope to have it by my birthday on April 10, would be best present ever.

Update
Background check cleared April 3, manufacturing 4,5 mailed april 8.

Just thought I would share my time line with others who may be looking.

2/2 Took CHL Class
2/3 Submitted online application
2/8 Electronic fingerprints
2/11 Mailed packet regular mail
3/21 Application received, background check under review
3/29 Manufacturing

The quick background check surprised me. Hopefully not too much longer before I have plastic!

Thanks for the info jpkaznowski. I mailed in my packet on 3/4 and was beginning to worry that it's not showing up yet as received now that it's been a month. I will be a bit more patient

2/2 took class

packet out that monday

fingerprints 2/14

3/29 manufacturing pending

4/1 manufacturing

reply from DPS to email sent in march saying ill have it in 5-15 days 4/2.

4/4 still manufacturing.

maybe i should stop checking so this pot will boil!

ready to do the Market Street Shuffle.

Went to mailed on 3/30. Still no trace. Wonder why it takes so long for mail to get from Austin to college station.

It took a good long while before they updated my status to background check being done, papers received.

it took about 35 days i remember. Now I've been on manufacturing for a good week now. I did receive a email on the 2nd or first stating that i would receive my plastic in 5-15 days.
