Finally got a chance to try out the Model 19 yesterday. This is a fun wheel gun to shoot. I actually found it easy to shoot accurately in double-action mode. As I said before, I won't be putting many 357 Magnum rounds through it, but I plan on shooting it regularly with 38 Specials.
It is now the new house gun, and will carry Winchester Silvertips in it. I even feel confident enough to use it as an alternate carry gun to my Glock 22.

The S&W M19 is a great revolver. I'll echo the comment about minimum usage of full power .357 ammo in it.
Just about the handiest D/A revolver there is.
A Classic and deservedly so.

I took my 12-year-old daughter out for a little shooting yesterday. I had some old 38 Spl loads I needed to burn up, so I took the Model 19. I really need to shoot it more often. I really like it. This is most certainly a classic DA revolver. I'll never part with it.

S&W Model 19 lore has it that one should shoot magnum ammo sparingly
Shooting .357 magnum in a S&W K frame such as the model 19 and 66, would loosen up things a bit. I believe that the original S&W .357 was the Model 27 and it's sister the Model 28. Both are N Frame and will shoot .357 without the loosening.
The Model 19 and subsequent Model 66 was the preferred revolver in the 70's. Semi-auto pistols were considered unreliable.
