A Houston radio station is conducting a daily poll question: "Should teachers be allowed to carry guns in school?" Go vote at http://www.ktrh.com . It'll be up today (Thursday) only.

I would like to be able to carry on campus but it is a no-no in my large north west houston school district. We did have an incident at a school a week or two ago where a suspended student came back to campus armed. Then we see the incident in Ohio yesterday.
Makes me think.
Should make you think too.

My wife went to that school many moons ago. Yes, it does make you think.

KTRH is the radio staion with poll. I was on the road quite a bit today and was listening too the news story. Pretty annoying. They read off about the Cleveland shooting and asked the question whether teachers should be allowed to arm themselves. Then followed with a quote from a local school administrator who proclaimed that all she needs is some teacher going to her complaining someone stole her gun while they were monitoring the halls. I was getting annoyed by the 50th time I heard it. KTRH is usually fairly conservative.

And why wouldn't that teacher be wearing her gun while monitoring the halls?

I did catch more of that interview where they ripped the soundbite from. It went sorta like this.

We can't have everyone running around with guns. 70% of our staff are women. That means that a great many of them will be carrying in their purses.

I though of you Ms. Pax and how the whole tone of that short piece would infuriate you.
