"I see," quoth the blind man...

I don't know that I can see INTO the mag well very far. Maybe a dot or some such on the inside of the front lip would help. Is this what you're talking about?

Yep.
For a right hand shooter the dot will be just inside the magwell opening on the right side.

The brain is like a computer. It likes to process concise information.
(garbage in-garbage out)

A good skeet or trap instructor will tell his students not to look at
the whole clay bird, but to look at (focus) on the leading edge.

As an example, focus your eyes on the word below for 5 seconds.

magwell.

Notice how your eyes either focus on one letter only or they move around over the word sometimes looking at the g and sometimes looking at the w etc.

Now focus on the period at the end of this sentence.
See how your eyes are steady and easily focused on this point.
This is sometimes called "Tiger eyes".

The same thing happens when you look at the magwell opening.
Your brain will guide the mag into the well more precisely if your eyes
are focused on a point in the magwell rather than vewing the entire magwell opening.

This is especially true if the gun is canted to the same angle as the arriving mag in your left hand and the pointer finger of the left hand is
aligned along the front of the mag.

With precise information from the eyes the pointer finger will drive the mag to where you are looking.

Aim small-miss small.

Hope this helps.

It does, actually. Now I understand what you are talking about and can see how it would help. Thanks!
