There's no way for me to answer with only one selection on your list. The first assumption is that I have only ONE next gun. As far as SA handguns go, I have at least 3 on my list vying for "next", all for different reasons. Most of them are there for several of your listed reasons. Here is my handgun wish list:

1) Some type of 1911. I've narrowed it down to a few different models.... Springfield Loaded Full-sized Parkerized, STI Lawman (black), or a black Kimber Custom II.

2) CZ-52

3) CZ-82

4) CZ-75B

As for why, here is a brief explanation for each:

1) the 1911 has great ergonomics and has a nice flat design. It is similar in operation to my Hi-Power, which I like. It is in a heftier caliber, and it is fun to shoot. It is a combination of reasons 2,3,4,6 & 8 on the poll.

2) I've heard good things about this gun and the 7,62x25 round. They push velocities far beyond what most handgun rounds will ever do. The slide/frame roller mechanism is also intriguing to me. I probably wouldn't carry it, but it sounds like a lot of fun to shoot. They're also cheap. It is a combination of reasons 1,2, & 8.

3) I mostly want one of these because I'd like have a heavier gun to shoot Makarov out of. It can share ammo with my FEG PA-63. They're also relatively cheap. Reasons 1 & 2.

4) I've heard lots of good things about this pistol. It is supposed to be reliable and durable. It is similar in size, operation, and capacity to my daily carry (a Hi-Power), so it would certainly work as a stand-in carry gun while the Hi-Power goes to the gunsmith or some similar situation. It also is in the same caliber. Reasons 2, 6, and 8.

I've got a pending deal on a LNIB 642 plus extras for $300. Haven't bought a wheel gun in a long time.

My first criteria is fit. If I can't shoot it comfortably I won't shoot it.

Couldn't answer in the poll. My criteria for my next firearm purchase is capacity. I want a rifle/carbine that accepts 30-round mags. Either an AK-clone or an AR. And I want it before the Presidential election.

After that, I'll be gunning for a 1911. (Pun definitely intended!)

My next pistola will be a Springfield Armory Custom Carry.
Yes, it's another 1911. My goal is to have 15. Hehehehe.

I don't have very much trouble finding a pistol that "fits my hand" - I'm pretty versatile in that regard... but trigger has turned me off to many a pistol I wish I could have convinced myself to buy. The only gun I've ever sold was my USPc .45 SS (which I adored) - I just couldn't learn to love that god-aweful $800 DA pull.
