I believe you are correct, HighVelocity. I'm sure all of us avoid the dangerous parts of town, are very polite to everyone we come in contact with, and do everything we can to avoid a bad situation. But if someone is busting through your door or window, 2 am or 4 pm, polite will most likely not get you anywhere. They came into your house for a
reason.
To answer your question, I do carry when at home. If I'm feeling lazy I'll carry Mexican, but I'm carrying. Steal my truck, okay. I've got insurance, I can replace that.
DO NOT enter my home!
That's just my take on it.

The more I carry this thing, the more I am inclined to forget it is there. I think that is as it should be. As far as being worried about the neighborhood, we just don't have many problems in this little country town, but it's there if I need it, and it's not that much a problem.

Charles, I understand that reasoning too. My youngest is 33 now. When the grandbabies come over that is what I do w/ it. Put it on. When we are at my father-in-law's for a visit & many grandbabies are there I have never taken it off for that reason. Now that I have made the decision for home carry I guess it will always be there until bed time. Thanks guys. I had decided but was glad to hear from you. That lets me know my thinking is in the group of people I want surrounding me.

Great post anygunand everyone. You've all given me some food for thought. I especially like the idea of the little kel-tec because when I'm home I almost always wear some sort of shorts or pants (if it's cold) with a drawstring waistband and they don't support the weight of a gun very well.
I've never really carried at home due to having a young child. He is probably more reason to carry while home.
I need to put the bug in Santa's ear about making a Kel-tec appear in my stocking.
Thanks for the good discussion.
I had no problem getting to it and ended up resolving the situation without needing to fire the weapon (long story).
Unless there is some legal reason that it cannot be discussed, I would like to hear the story. In another thread of course so as not to hijack this one.

Anygun,
I thank you as well...I love this board and the opportunity to let everyone know how you feel and why you feel they way you do! Please...I welcome anyone to question my ideals...I look forward to learning from each and every person on this site. Added together...there are alot of years and a great deal of situational experience here in which someone can gain valued information.

I carry 24/7. Home invasions happen in just that. Your home.
