Lanternlad,
What is the weight on this one & what is the material. It looks like stainless in the picture & I thought all the 85 ULs were blue on the frame. Widow lady here is looking for something like this. She is a young widow & shoots regular so not worried about recoil. She wants something light enough for her to carry but does not have much money.

It is aluminum and steel and weighs 15oz. (gun is aluminum, cylinder is steel) Basically the Taurus version of the Smith 637. Also has an internal lock on the hammer. It was my wife's gun, but she appropriated my 642 cause she likes it better. This gun was almost used on a BG that tried to get into her car. She pulled it, put the laser on his nose, and he ran off like the chicken he was. My wife had no problem carrying it.

for whatever it's worth, the revolver that gentleman was asking me about at the gunshow is nearly the same thing, LT.
mine is a Titanium frame, in .357 with the ol' laser pointer (cat toy).
I agree with the premise of the laser in and of itself being a deterrent! I have read a few accounts of that happening, and believe it to be true. psychological thing, I guess.
sho do help mah trigger, too!

What is the spot under the cylinder release that looks like tape sticky residue?

That would be sticky tape residue. There was a laser warning sticker there that fell off. I've since cleaned the residue off when I cleaned it last. Gun is clean as a whistle - hasn't been carried or shot since then.

Thank you & that is what I thought it was. She has seen the picture & read the last post from you. She is going to think on it. I will not even think of asking you to hold it because you can never know what a lady will decide. If some one wants it sell it to them. If she gets back to me I will holler at you.
Thank you.
