... While anything is possible, statistically I wouldn't necessarily try to stop a fist fight with a gun unless I saw something that made me believe that the fists were rising to the level of deadly force.

Deadly force is NOT just killing .... it also includes grievous bodily harm. Being hit by someone's fists can easily get to that level, depending on other factors.

Lets not forget...the guy was down, was NOT fighting back...the big guy kept pummeling him and was fully intent on grievous bodily harm....man...very very hard call on this one...deep down inside I would like to say I would have defended him..but at the same time I know the ramifications...you would have had to shoot psycho mamma if you did shoot her little 450lb angel

All this over a pizza..and cutting in line...didn't the guy get like 4-6 years in prison for it??
