And like dukesean said, be sure to call the headquarters at 800-672-3888 (option #3), and ask for the lifetime membership department. I called the 877-NRA-2008 number first, and they'd never heard of the promotion (they can offer a lifetime membership for $500, though, and it includes a bomber jacket).
I'd been wanting to do this for a long time, but I just never could convince myself to fork over $750 which, before now, was the cheapest price I'd seen. I know a promotion like this doesn't give the NRA as much operating capital per member, but let's hope it swells the roles.

There is not a limit that I know of. I was poking fun at the quota LEO has to write tickets. There is no quota, of course.
