I say that you are fine. If the officer says anything to you about the CHL say that you have not recived it in the mail yet. I think that most officers would be understanding.

There's a lot of difference, legally. Your home is sacrosanct. The police cannot enter it or force you to come out unless they have a warrant or someone is screaming inside. They can stop your car because of burned-out license plate light or suspected DUI. Car carry was allowed by the Motorist Protection Act, not Castle Doctrine.
