Maybe this qualifies me for one of those Jeff Foxworthy "You might be a redneck..." things but if I am jonesin' for a hearty breakfast there really is not a better place than a Waffle House. I like to watch the cooks and waitresses do their thing.

Beats McDonalds.

I have been in a bunch of them and have never seen any signs and have packed in most of them I have been in.

My wife likes waflle house. I personally refer to it as "The Choke and Puke". I despise the place.
:iagree:
Every Waffle House I've been in has been disgusting, dirty, and smoky-smelly.

Unless the've changed things in the past 5 years or so, I see no reason to inquire.

You can get waffles with the blueberries on the side. They will let you have a plain waffle if you ask them.

If it's not posted why even ask? And saying you're associated with a large group of handgun owners just begs for the person you write to say "NO". The fact that I have a CHL, in my opinion, does not make me a "good guy" it just means I jumped through a few hoops and paid a couple of bucks to enjoy a right that most believe I already had. Carry concealed and carry on... don't stir up a hornets’ nest when not necessary.

I just recently asked a new business owner in my home town, "Why did you post that sign" referring to a brand new legal 30.06 sign. His reply was to keep the riff-raff from carring firearms into the store. When I mentioned CHL to him I was rewarded with a major deer in the headlight response. He had no idea that CHL was available in Texas, someone else had suggested the sign as being the best to post. I am still trying to find out what that means.

Bottom line is that you may be seeing some postings coming from owners that have no clue as to what is going on here. It is not like CHL's are advertised. There are no billboards or commercials for the sheeple to here or read. I am really starting to believe some (not all) of the signs are being posted by owners that are just ignorant about CHL, and the laws, and when we question them they are clueless. The gentleman that I spoke with certainly was. By the way he removed the sign and posted gun busters.

I have been shooting, hunting, and fishing all of my life just as many of you have, and it still shocks me when I talk with adults who do not know a thing about any of those. These things that are near and dear to our hearts we keep up with and continue to educate ourselves.

Who is educating the sheeple?

I don't believe Waffle House has never posted a 30.06 compliant sign at any location.

They post a small no firearms sign on the outside of their building.

Waffle House should not be an issue for Texans since 30.06.

In other states, where sign criteria isn't established, the sign may have standing.

Then there are those who wish to punish them for their anti-gun philosophy, even though the sign is invalid.

I have simply never enjoyed the food.

Yeah, it is a small place to allow smoking, but the smoking section is always full to the brim. I imagine they will ban it when the law makes them.

Yeah, but you have to ask, which is like asking for a plain burger at Wendy's - they get all upset and never know quite how to handle the request - I usually just give up and have a short stack of pancakes.
