The worst that can happen is they drag you to the floor, cuff you, and do a body-cavity search.

Actually, asking them is the best course of action. They're the ones who will be dealing with any on-campus issues.

Campuses generally don't want students to keep weapons in parked cars. I can't say I blame them, There's a high rate of car break-ins on most campuses.

I guy I knew in college got in trouble that way. He kept a .22 rifle in his car and ran his mouth about it. That was 30 years ago, and his parents were able to smooth it over so he didn't get thrown out or arrested (which he could have been, in that state at that time).

on the lap band thing, you will be a skinny man by the end of the year, if not sooner. my aunt had it done, looks like a whole new lady, diabetes is gone, no insulin nothing. my dad's buddy had it done, i didn't even recognize him at my grandfather's funeral. but he works out three hours a day, which includes jogging and he doesn't have the sagging skin and is looking healthy. i am not big enough to really justify getting a surgery but i am big enough to worry about it harming my health, i'm just lazy to be honest. after finals next week i plan on hitting the gym and the track though. good luck with it and good health to you!
:txflag:

hey, the sagging skin might be a bonus, just put my 1911 on and throw a skin flap over it lol. perfect concealment! I plan on exercising more than I do already though to help remedy that problem. especially during the summer. I already exercise 30 minutes or so a day doing random things but I'm an eater. I can knock out a whole pizza pretty easily and think nothing of it.

I'm glad I'm not the only student who has applied lately. I just hope they arn't waiting until our finals are over before they start to issue our licenses (99 days waiting for me so far).

I've talked to the police department on campus, and some of them are all for allowing students to carry on campus, but this may be because part of the area that they cover is the college for public policy, and most of the students here are trying to become LEOs or Feds when they graduate. I have asked them about allowing me to keep my gun locked in my truck, the Sgt. I talked to in the office said he would have no problem with it, but because we have to pay for the parking pass he was unsure if it was legal, and that I shouldn't just in case.

I do think thought that the worst thing you can do is ask.

Also good luck to all us students who have finals coming up.

True enough, every time the pine log comes out I read about a car break in or two. unfortunately I have to leave some high dollar equipment (2300$ laptop) in my truck every day cause I can't carry it around campus (hey it weighs damn near 50+ pounds.) so what i've done is I've bought a pelican laptop case and set the lock on it, then set a dial lock through one of the extra lock holes and then placed a cable lock threw one of my seat rails. It will take quite a bit of work to get that laptop out of my truck.

Get some sort of metal U-bar made from solid steel..

something like this... http://www.home-improvement-superstore. ... -lock.html
We have cable locks on all the computers and monitors where I work, but of the things i did not inherit when i got the job was the keys :grumble

I have a small cutter that fits in my pocket at work that can make short work of a 3/8 coated steel cable.

They can break into the pelican case at their leasure later.....

oh and NEVER buy masterlocks (i just showed the masterlock as an example)

they make them from such high precision and such great springs that it makes it EASIER to pick... i can pick a master lock in under 30 seconds with no troubles but those cheap china locks that half the time you have to fight even if you have the key are great... really discouraging to someone trying to be precise and quick with the pickins...

I'm glad to see that not every college kid these days is a brainwashed PC milquetoast pantywaist who is going to curl up in a ball and wet him/herself when attacked.

I've noticed that, I'm not a professional locksmith or lockpicker by a long shot but I can generally pick master locks within a few minutes. I'm learning day by day, mainly when I should be studying for my physics exams lol.

oh I do, in my management 370 class all we do is talk about guns and concealed carry and the laws before during and after class lol. My professors pretty cool about it, but he loves guns as well.

I gave a speech in my comm 111 class on guns and concealed carry and there were a few gasps but in general 80% or so of the students agreed with me.

oh and a terrorist or crazy person better not attack my college cause there are alot of country boys who will tear em up. Most of the guys in my classes agree, if anyone came in our classroom and started shooting we would do whatever it took to stop them, guns or no guns. And I'm still young enough to believe myself invincible so lol, i've got at least that going for me.
