I think the student should get a couple friends who have not been told this by the administration and have them wear their empty holsters. See what the school does to people who do not ask permission and just do it. If I were up there, I might wear an empty holster while I went to the bookstore on campus or something like that. I see it as a protest against their limiting his protest even more than the original cause.

What needs to happen on ANOTHER day and NOT during an organized protest is any students who desires needs to wear an empty holster as a part of their choice in cloths and NOT discuss or talk about it being a protest. Basically wear it as an accessory.

Wear a nice leather OWB holster, and simply drop your cell phone or Blackberry into it.

I participated in the protest on my campus, and part of the thing we were told to do, was to make sure that the holster was empty, and not place anything in there. This was for a couple of reasons; first, was to show that it was empty, because I am a legal citizen who can carry everywhere but here, and we need to change that; second, was so that it wouldn't get confused with should actually be caried in the holster. third, knowing that there would be a bunch of sheeple, who freak at any mention of gu.. (can't even finish before they start screaming) was to keep the protestors out of trouble. All in all, the protest was mostly a success, in that as far as I can find, no one got in trouble for doing it.

and this is taking place in texas. thast what gets me. it would be one thing if it were far off in yankee land or in the land of fruit nuts and flakes (AKA california)
but its right here in out home state. it makes me sick to think about it
. when did the state become filled with morons

texas should be no place for these people. but southern hospitality has made them feel welcome now they are burrowed deep all the way to austin

All those yankies that came to Southern hospitality went to Austin & burrowed. Out here in the woods we dont have any of those guys. The occasional one is pretty quiet in Redneck County Texas.
We have a Project Engineer in our church that travels upper Mid-West, East of the mississippi, Gulf Coast States, Eastern Seaboard, Northeast, & Canada.
He says the folks there that are stayers, workers, country folk, anything outside the big cities, even in New York State are patriotic & if they did not have an accent you could not tell them from us.
Says they even consider themselves Redneck too.
I thought that complimentary distinction was reserved for us Southern folk.

Well, like Foxworthy says, "I've been to 48 states, and there are rednecks everywhere you go".

You and your group are prohibited from staging this protest at any place other than the Free Speech Zone which is located in the center of the campus in a large, open space in front of the Library.
As Kurt Russell would say "Land Of The Free"
