I too don't like the bailout, though I understand why it's a very important issue.

I have a much bigger problem with both Parties allowing mega mergers to occur, thereby creating entities the the government "simply can't allow to fail." We are rapidly returning to the days of the robber barons and I don't see a Teddy Roosevelt coming down the road.

What Iacocca wrote has nothing to do with bailouts. That's something that has been projected into this discussion because of the timing of this thread.

Instead, it's an excerpt from his book, Where Have All the Leaders Gone?, which was published in May 2007.

His criticism of the current administration is something that "Party first" Republicans find unacceptable.
