SC1903A3 posted the text of Penal Code 46.02(a-1)(2)(C), which makes it an offense to have a handgun on or about your person inside a motor vehicle if you are a member of a gang.
That law has nothing to do with long guns or weapons that are in the trunk.

Ok had him looked up today and found out that he was never in jail. Guess the media is full of it

Re: Police find AK-47 rifle in car trunk
Why are you saying that "the media is full of it"? Did they report corretly that the guy was arrested? Are you saying that he was not a felon?

That's really odd. The story plainly states that he was arrested and transported to the Fort Bend County Jail. Either the news media is blatantly making things up or the Sheriff's office realized they made a blunder and released him. (are there other possibilities?) I am really curious as to which is correct. Seems like the paper would print a retraction since they even print the fellow's name in the article. I wonder if your friend can get more details without getting himself in a pickle. Wonder too if this fellow realizes his name is in the paper.xpur3l0g1cx wrote:Ok had him looked up today and found out that he was never in jail. Guess the media is full of it
