I also am not a grammar Nazi, although I was a newspaper proofreader for several years back in the Dark Ages, and my sister refers to me as The Keeper of the English Language. My personal favorite is rein/reign. I don't remember the specifics, but I saw something a few days ago about someone needing to be reigned in...not quite sure how that would happen. Probably totally unrelated to the rein of the current monarch...you think? And I have seen "rain" mixed in there once or twice...gotta love it!

That is one of the things that I enjoy so much about this forum is not having to fear getting chewed up and spit out over making spelling or grammar mistakes. I try hard not to, but some times it just comes out that way...sorry ya'll. :banghead:

Y'all. It's a contraction of "you all"; the apostrophe replaces the missing letters, which are "ou".

It's an easy typo to make, though. I find myself accidentally typing "ya'll" now and then.

Why do people pronounce nuclear as nucular (our President being a perfect example). :???:

**Yeah this is a twist on the original post and not meant as a hijack, just a turn. ;-)
