That's why I like the Coronado vest; it looks expensive enough (and is expensive enough) that nobody questions me wanting it to stay within my sight at all times, but it's easy enough to take it off to weigh in the hall, then fold it on the chair once I'm in the exam room.

Last time I was in the doc's office, I had a full-size all-steel 1911 and 3 spare mags in it. That, plus the weight of the vest and all the other stuff that's always in it, would've been pretty significant on the scale.
