People really do respond to the message of freedom and individual liberty; the rest of the GOP should try it sometime. As Dr. Paul said so often, "Freedom is popular!"
I think if I had to align myself with any one party, the Libertarian Party would be it. Unfortunatly, I'm also a realist and I know that for the time being, only one of two parties will win major offices such as POTUS. I agree, people often do respond to the message of freedom and liberty. The problem comes from the fact that many folks, as products of a nanny state, aren't prepared for what that really means. They are used to depending on someone else to solve their problems and the concept of individual responsibility that comes with true freedom scares the heck out of them.
