Everyone's going to start saying: "Hey man, don't be such a Joey", "well he really pulled a joey this time" etc, etc.....

When I was trying to come up with a fake name, the face of Joey from Friends kept popping into my head.... :)flintknapper wrote:You know what you have stated now don't you?

"Hey guess what, I pulled a Joey!"
That could be the new thing we say when I mess up...

With the Internet it should spread faster and just think, we owe it all to txinvestigator and a slip of the trigger finger!

Did all of the staff come in w/ weapons drawn after hearing a shot ring out?
I remember you told me last time you had ND in the store you came out of your class in the low ready to check it out.
Glad noone was hurt. "Joey" still have a job?

No, we are still not fully operational, so it was slow in the store.gigag04 wrote:Did all of the staff come in w/ weapons drawn after hearing a shot ring out?

In fact, I was on the range with one of our guys who just got back from NOLA working with Blackwater. He put a new collapsable Knoxx recoil absorbing stock on his 870, and we were putting it thru its paces.
We were the only ones shooting, so when we finished I took off my ear protection. I heard a shot that sounds like shots do when you are standing in the showroom and someone fires inside the range.
I looked out and saw the freaked out customer and Joey taking the gun.
The last time the store was FULL of people and there had been some robberies around..............

Interesting that you revived this thread, as I never posted what happened.
Joey had taken his identical glock a day earlier and shown it to a customer. Joey does a few modifications to his that people are often interested in. He had put his receiver/frame on the new slide to make a comparison for the customer.
Somehow, He left HIS receiver/frame on the new slide. He became distracted with customers and chambered a round in what he thought was HIS gun, but in fact was the new gun. Once that was done the gun with the chambered round was placed in the box and put into stock.
The investigation resulted in several policy changes, as you can imagine.

1 round was chambered, the mag was then empty. go figure.j1132s wrote:If you pick up a Glock w/ a fully loaded mag and one w/o, the difference is night and day. I assume if there's a switch and the loaded gun is in the box it'll have a fully loaded mag according to the description.
But, anyway, I'm glad that nobody got hurt and things turned up ok. Accidents happen.
