Maybe, but we can be pretty well assured that he and his worshipers in Congress won't be doing anything to make things any better for gun owners either.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups... I would not be surprised if the U.S. went the way of the U.K. on guns. I would be surprised if Texas went gently into that good night though.

This has come up before, and the reason John Bolton (Bush's UN ambassador) didn't sign the Small Arms Treaty was because the gun laws we currently have in America are already more stringent than what the UN wants. We would be essentially going backwards if we signed it.

Also, the Constitution is that law of the land. It CANNOT be trumped by a treaty with a foreign power. The only way to get around 2A is to amend the Constitution, and that takes 3/4 of States to ratify, so THAT isn't going to happen. If somehow it DID happen, individual states have individual constitutions,most with RKBA clauses. The Texas Constitution states:

Sec. 23. RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.

I think we'll be fine. But keep watching them and keep hounding your congress critters.
