Thank you everyone for all your wonderful responses.

I have another thread in the Holster section regarding Comp Tac's holsters. I have decided to go with a MTAC holster since the shell can be interchangeble with various types of firearms that I plan to carry.

I intend to carry the Kimber if it can be hidden well. I am actually in the process of picking up a Walther PPS from a gentleman nearby at a really nice price. I like the Walther because it is single stack and, as far as I can tell, quite reliable for a new weapon. So, those two will be my primary carry weapons. I think with enough clothing the Kimber would work well and in the summer the Walther will be much slimmer and more discrete.

I borrowed a friend's Taurus PT 111 and tried to carry it without a holster. I tried to just tuck it in my pants being held by just the belt. I then put a dress shirt over the whole thing with the shirt tails tucked in.

I can see my waistline is not quite even due to the slight bulge from the gun sticking out from the side. I'm not sure how a holster would be able to conceal this but I'll give it a try.

By the way, this was the first time I carried in a restaurant. I was out with the wife for Valentine's day dinner. Initially I saw a no weapons sign at the front. I read it in more detail and it states that no unlicensed individuals are allowed to carry. I smiled to myself, now I am licensed so I am allowed to carry in the restaurant. It was quite an interesting experience.
