I saw this posted on the NRAmembership facts page:

Q: I applied for membership online but I haven't heard anything. What's going on?
A: When you submitted your online application, did you receive an email receipt verification? If yes, everything is in order and your membership is in processing. If no, your application was not received and you should reapply.

I didn't get an email after signing up via this route. Did anyone else?

I did the same thing and signed up again earlier myself. No email arrived again and so I'll just wait and see if anything pops through the door over the next few weeks.

interresting, wifey never got an email either.

Amazing how the free sign up gives you problems but the pay one doesn't :)

I did receive an email, but I signed up for the 2 year option. (2 year extension for $25 plus a free knife) I got confirmation the next day. Maybe because there was a money transaction.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

I never recieved a confirmation email but today my wife and I both got an email saying that our membership has been processed. they even gave us our membership number while the card is being shipped

well, I found this offer on another site, and took advantage of it. I signed up wife and both daughters for the 1 year trial membership, and I signed myself up for the 5 year membership.
