More and more I agree with Claire Wolfe's comment about America at an awkward stage.

I am also for the Libertarians. I think they could help dig the government out of our daily lives. Many of our fears that if some government regulation goes away then we lose control of our country to the cheap labor of China or every company will try to rip you off or be like Enron. Most of these fears are unfounded created by the a few who support the laws many times for their own gain at others expense.

Maybe we would actually be able to come to some decent compromises rather than going far left or far right and never giving the middle ground a chance. This of course depends on the candidate.
Personally, I’m interested in keeping other people from building Utopia, because the more you believe you can create heaven on earth the more likely you are to set up guillotines in the public square to hasten the process.--James Lileks

Rick Perry made a big deal earlier about turning down stimulus money from the Feds. But, he has decided to accept $11 million to be used to redecorate the governor's mansion that had been gutted by a fire.

He sure does have the interests of the people of Texas at heart. He would not want us to sit on the floor when we visit.

Regardless of who is in power, remember, we the people voted them in. Democracy at its best. Elected officials no necessarily so.

Don't vote for the party. Vote for conservatism. If you can find any.

If not, vote against liberalism and the activist America-haters.

They are easy to find in Austin.

Nitrogen - Succinct and spot on.

I think we should all be independent voters.

We should let the party system die. They are so independent of us voters we need to return the favor...

'Bout the best you can do is vote
for the party that is the least evil.

Both seem to be getting more evil all the time,
but so far the Repubs are just slightly less evil...kinda

This whole liberal experiment going on now is going to open
the eyes of alot of people, so we should be swinging back
to the conservative side during the next major elections.

That is IF abama doesn't rig the computers
Time to get back to the basics this nation was founded upon...
