Case was dismissed Aug 24. I received the letter and my CHL in the mail Oct 17 ;-)

Now I did email suspensions dept. a PDF of the case and they forwarder it to the attorney assigned the case for the DPS. Yes your case is assigned to a DPS case officer-attorney and then he clears your license to be reinstated. Actually the people I spoke to are very professional.
awesome news J . :cheers2:

Great news, and congratulations!

I want to clarify something here: you had your license revoked simply because charges were being filed against you? I didn't know that this could happen; I thought a conviction was required before the license can be revoked. If that's not the case, it seems like it should be.

No it was not revoked it was suspended til the outcome of the case. If you are charged with anything that would have made you ineligible at the time of application then your CHL will be suspended until the outcome of your case. In my case I was charged with Class A Misdemeanor Assault of a Family Member.

Thanks for the support.

Well, I can see where that would be necessary, I suppose. Thanks for that info, and again congrats!

Glad to see the laws worked out as they were supposed to.
Thanks for sharing what some would consider an embarrassing experience. Our joint knowledge is increased.

:iagree: Congratulations for "sticking to your guns" [so to speak] and rejecting the advice of your first attorney. Justice is served. :smash:

I don't think it would be too off topic to say that I hope your family life could be mended as well.

I think I would be talking to divorce attorney next. She will do it again, next time she will make sure it is her word against yours and you will lose.

Was it ?
He lost his rights to carry, and had to go through a lot of agrivation, because of some unsubstantiated charges, without a trial of of his peers. What he got was dumped on, not justice. We are all happy he got his CHL restored but I wouldn't call the system and the laws that did this to him justice.

Its just not right.

I was speaking of the end result, not of the process. It is never right for a person to have to go through this long and expensive process. Unfortunately, this type of ordeal is part of our justice system and it happens too often. If he had gone through a "trial of his peers" it would have taken longer and cost even more money.

I see my tone was harsh, I knew you were speaking of the end result after a long ordeal. its just that as I was reading the thread and I got irritated at what happened to him. I think we can all agree that it wasn't right what happened, and we should all be a little angry about what happened.
