Rapid City, South Dakota, this date -- A 34-year-old man tried to rob a hotel with a butter knife. He left after the clerk refused. The would-be robber was arrested later and has been charged with first-degree robbery.
Wouldn't you think that if he had access to a butter knife, he would have access to a carving knife?

I'll have to remember that. The pharmacy needs to see either a doctor's note or a gun when you pick up your prescription.

I knew kid in high school who threatened to kill himself with a butter knife at school. Everyone thought I was heartless for laughing at him until they realized it wasn't sharp. He was a strange one.

There was a bank robber somewhere in the US who approached
the teller with a stickup note written on a deposit from a different
bank across the street.
The teller told him that he couldn't use the other bank's deposit slip
in her bank.
He left and went across the street to rob the bank matching his deposit
slip. The first bank's people called 911 and the robber was arrested inside the
other bank!!

Maybe he'd read that old billboard that said something about
butterknives killing more people than regular knives....

I guess he could also be charged with assault. Even though the clerk was never touched, I am sure he was a afraid the perp would commit 'buttery'.

Would he have been charged with a salt & buttery, do you think?
I bet he was toast - but he had a decent spread.
(Ok, ok, I'll stop)

In Bay Minette, Alabama (Mobile area), Saturday, a man tried to rob a gas station with a toy gun. The clerk grabbed a cricket bat and chased the robber out of the store. The 22-year-old man was later arrested and charged with robbery.

Cricket bat -- I'm guessing someone involved is Indian or Pakistani.
