The article basically states that legal weapons would not be a problem and we should not worry about that causing a problem.

How are the security/deckhand employees going to determine what is/is not legal if a CHL holder has no obligation to prove it with identification?

Could we "assume" that any gun they find would have be presumed legal because they can't force anyone to prove otherwise?

Thanks,
Jason

Unfortunately, I've run into quite a few LEO wannabes. One tried to "frisk" me when I was seven or eight years old. I think he was actually a pervert. It left its mark on me.

I do not mean for that to sound negative, but do they require the same actions as licensed LE? Thanks.
No, you are only required by law to show your CHL to a Peace Officer or Magistrate when the PO or Magistrate demands that you ID yourself.

TXDOT ferry boat workers are not peace officers;

Gadzooks! Those lawyers sure know how to make things complicated!
That's how they make a living, take something totally simple and make a mess of it.

Yeah, it sounds like they are going to be giving these people the appearance of power without the legal authority to back it up. It sounds like a recipe for abuses to me. Hopefully they are trained well enough to prevent that.

Gee that's sad. That's just what lawyers do for the criminals.
