USA1....What a pretty sight! Makes you feel good about what load you carry!

Thanks to all. I'm taking the above advice.MoJo wrote:Padre,
You already own two reliable firearms in acceptable calibers why not spend your money on ammo and training? The gun you carry and the ammo loaded in it is only 10% of the equation. Mindset, situational awareness, being able to hit what you are shooting at under all kinds of adverse conditions makes up about 85% the other 5% is simply the luck of the draw.
Find a reliable self defense load that runs your Khar and a good +P load for your J frame put 100 rounds of each in stock and shoot practice rounds that replicate these loads until you are proficient then if you need to buy a .45 get a full size 1911 as the compacts are a little finicky.
Remember, there are no magic bullets and no magic guns only proficient CHLs.

Those are two of my favorite loads in those calibers. They are sometimes called the NYPD loads since they are the issuse ammo for NYPD. Good choice.frjeff wrote: My carry ammo:

Carry ammo is just like caliber... different camps prefer different ammo. I think that most of us are willing to put our personal preferences aside enough to concede that any modern self defense ammunition made by a major manufacturer will get the job done.My carry ammo:

Decided to get another IWB holster for the Kahr (Crossbreed Super Tuck Delux) to try against the KD IWB. Much cheaper than a new .45.
I believe that I'm best off with the $$ being spent on ammo and range time. I can add to the gun collection anytime. Right now, proficiency is most important! Common sense rules again!
Also, I have begun reloading and am shooting lots of pretty comparable loads in the above mentioned guns (as well as the GP100).
