Any suggestions out there for something better priced for now?
Springfield, Kimber, and STI make 9mm 1911s. (and 40s&w and 38 super...)
Para Ordinance as well.

I didn't know these were ready yet. "Spec Ops" huh? Looks like I didn't win one. Before Wilson came out with it, they couldn't think of a name so they had a link on their website where you could submit a name for it and if your name was picked you'd get one free of charge. Not sure I'd pay that much for it though.

STI makes both single and double stack 1911s for a less money. I would say also better quality, but I haven't actually seen the Wilson yet. The overall look of the pistol is good but how well does it operate and will it hold up? These are the important things.

Since we had the Sig guys chime in, I gotta come on for the HK guys and say....nope don't think so.

Well it will be interesting to see who Mr. Wilson ends up selling these to then. I can't see many die-hard 1911 fans wanting them, and enough folks moan about the prices of both H&K & Sig for me to think that they sure aren't going to consider spending double their prices for one of these. Of course one "no" each is hardly a valuable dataset but so far it would seem that this is a "new" product that few folks want. Oops
