Teenagers First Gun

I taught a Basic Pistol class yesterday and 2 different women showed up with brand new, in the box, Taurus Judge pistols. Talk about ambitious!

They must have seen the commercial of the lone woman walking through the dark parking garage
being stalked by the two BG's when she senses them and pulls out her Judge.

Just purchased a Walther P22, took it to range and really like it. Just want to get feedback cause my 2 16 year old daughters finally want to learn to shoot after years of begging them to learn. So give me your thoughts good and bad about this as a first gun. thanks all

If you already have the P22 it's a good choice for teaching anybody to shoot a pistol. I always start beginner handgunners with a 22lr semi then move up to a full size 9mm when they're comfortable. I also bring a 4" revolver with light wadcutter loads because I sometimes get new shooterts who get bothered by the slide movement on a semi.
