If you already have the P22 it's a good choice for teaching anybody to shoot a pistol. I always start beginner handgunners with a 22lr semi then move up to a full size 9mm when they're comfortable. I also bring a 4" revolver with light wadcutter loads because I sometimes get new shooterts who get bothered by the slide movement on a semi.
