Never understood this...

Buy some pants if you need them to hang down that far!

Perhaps it is a cost-cutting measure in these uncertain times.

You haven't been truly embarrassed until your mother loudly proclaims (in a crowded area) that she lost her thong... ;-)

Mom sounds pretty cool to me. Though my mind-picture is now trying to envision how you lose a thong...

Mom's can sometimes say some weird things. Last year at Christmas my Mother-In-Law was making her dill flavored vegetable dip. One of the ingredients is dill weed.
She was having trouble finding the spice in her cupboard. After searching for awhile she blurted out that she "couldn't find her weed'' just as one of the college age nephews was walking through the kitchen. He got the funniest look on his face, then realized what she was looking for. He immediately went in to his computer and posted on Facebook that his Grandmother couldn't find her stash of weed. (he did clarify it what the 'weed' was later though.)

I still call them thongs. My kids hate it.
BTW , back in the 80's , they were really called something that I should probably not say
due to forum rules but it was actually the name brand of the product.
Those of you old enough will know. You can also take a trip back in time here
