You know how it is. Once you start looking , your eyes wonder to other guns.

I still want to add a revolver to the collection one day. There's just something about them that I love. ;-)
I saw a Heritage Arms .22 revolver in Academy for $169. I was soooooooo tempted, but I resisted......for now.
Now that you mention it , I do have a revolver. Its very similar to that one . Its a .22 H&R purchased back in the 80's.
I rarely shoot it. But I do have it strategically stashed with little tiny hollow points loaded in it. ;-)

Not yet , but I wouldn't mind hearing from someone with this gun on a good OWB holster. ;-)
My XD 9 SC carries well in either a OWB Don Humes J.I.T or a OWB Don Humes First Agent...and, these holsters are not bank breakers. :tiphat:

Congrats USA 1 on the XD40 sc, i really like mine and hope you enjoy yours as well. That is the same price i paid in WFalls for mine. The LaserLyte RSL on top makes it a really nice package. Son in law bought my daughter a SP101 friday for $350 and the price was so good i had to order one. Enjoy the new toy.

Congrats have the same gun in 40 cal also. You will love it and I'm sure the range report will be good. Very easy to carry.

Range Report !

I LOVE THIS GUN !

Today I went to Hotwells in NW Houston to shoot the XD. As predicted , the gun functioned perfectly.
What was most impressive was the accuracy . At 21 feet , I was able to achieve a very tight group.
The recoil was extremely manageable with quick reacquisition back on target.
Being an outdoor range , no double taps are allowed....2 second rule. :cryin
But I pushed the limit of that rule as much as I could get away with. :evil2:

Close inspection of the spent casings revealed a nice deep strike on the primers.

I used 100 rounds of Federal Premium .40 FMJ
and 50 rounds of Hornady TAP JHP

Sorry , no pictures of the target. Hotwells only uses round targets..no silhouettes allowed.
They also don't allow you to retrieve your targets.

Great news.

I was actually looking at the XD 40 a while ago but I just love the G30 and couldn't justify another caliber to go hunting for! "rlol"

The XD9 shoots very accurately so I am glad to hear that the XD 40 SC carries on the tradition.

Pictures of the new addition seem to be missing? :totap: :nono: "rlol"

Sweet :thumbs2:

That is a good looking gun. It looks easy to conceal too. Got a holster yet?

I haven't settled on a good holster yet , but I picked up a Blackhawk nylon pancake style holster at Academy today
to get me by until I can find a good leather OWB holster.

The blackhawk works pretty well for now. I got to test it tonight taking the family out for dinner.

Very nice looking pistola. Did it come with any amenities, like extra mag, loader or maybe a kydex holster like some of its big brothers?

I love my XD40, I shot one at a buddies house one day and I knew I just had to have it!
Still looking for a holster for it, but I think may try a SAFARI LAND IWB.

Congrats on the new addition!

Yes , it came with a 9 round mag and a 12 round mag with an extended grip.
Also included is a double mag carrier , speed loader , and plastic holster.
The included holster doesn't work well for concealed carry unless your wearing a jacket IMO.

Blackhawk makes a poly(plastic) holster were the gun clicks into place and has a release button. Works great and comes with a pancake or belt to hold the holster. You will need a loose shirt to conceal though but luv mine. I use it for both guns it's made for a 4 inch but also works great for a 3 inch and gives that gun a little extra barrel protection. The barrel is flush on the 45--4 inch model.

Range Report # 2

Took the XD shooting today. Went through 200 rounds of Federal Premium FMJ and 20 rounds of my SD ammo (Hornady)
Not much to report because the gun shot perfectly . No issues of any kind. Very accurate for a 3 inch barrel.

p.s. The LCP also performed great . ;-)
