No it's not in the mail. When you see "application complete, license issued or active" means it's in the mail. Hope your wait is a short one.

Took 5 days for it to update to processing application. That seems pretty quick? Does this mean that everything was accepted? I was thinking January. Is there any chance before Christmas?

Hi tiger, and welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us.

Ohhhh yes, that is VERY quick! And no it doesn't mean everything's accepted. It simply means your file has been input into the system, and is under review.

And IMO getting your license before the end of the year is not very likely, as DPS has to send off for the various background checks, before they can continue processing your app.

Looks like I'm also in the Dec group that's waiting (im)patiently. I'm not bouncing off the walls or anything during the wait 'cause I've got enough to do right now to keep me busy. That's an advantage to this time of the year, I think. After Jan 1, tho, cabin fever will start to settle in. That's when it'll get really rough.

Noticed my application status went to "Processing Application". Looks like either hand-delivering the packet helped, or they really have cleared out their backlog.

Looks like all of us here so far hit the processing stage about the same time. :)

Y'all recent applicants may be in luck! Lady student called me today, elated. Mailed app. on Nov. 19 and got plastic out of her mailbox today. Just under a month.

12-7-09 Status Changed to "Processing Application"

I'm in the "waiting room" too. I'm trying not to get obsessive about checking the status of my application. I planned not to check it again until early February until I saw greybeard's post that one of his students got hers at around a month. So now I'll be checking every day starting in mid-January.

12/12/09: Took CHL Class
12/14/09: Sent off packet to DPS
12/18/09: Processing application
1/1/10: Application complete
xx/xx/xx: CHL received
