I wear the MSO that was for my PT140, it fits my PX4 SC pretty well. Only difference is the barrel length is a 1/4 of a inch shorter than the PT140.

I've had mine on for hours and for me its comfortable and it runs about 40-45 after shipping and everything. The MTB clip IWB I've heard sits a little high on the waist.

:cheers2:

I have several Comp-Tac holsters http://www.Comp-Tac.com and I like them all. The one I wear the most is the Infidel for my 1911's with the C-Tac coming in second. The others are belt holsters, paddle holsters and the "Settable Cant" that are used for specific purposes.

Something I've found to be quite nice for carrying while dressed up is the 5.11 Holster Shirt. They come in both black and white, crew neck and v-neck, and I generally wear a white crew neck If I'm wearing a dress shirt with no jacket. They carry much like a vertical shoulder holster. They are similar to UnderArmor compression shirts, and are made to wear tight. They're also breathable, so good for use in the summer. There are holster compartments on both sides, so good for righty or lefty, and I generally use the weak side for extra mag carry.

I don't know the Xd 40 well enough to gauge for size, and the way you wear your shirts and your body type are a factor. I do know that some people on this board have expressed successful carry for XD .40 pistols with these in the past. The newer versions seem to have been revamped to accommodate larger pistols, so that's good for you. I've heard that Top Brass Military Supply in Houston carries them, so that's probably a good source if you're going to be in Clearlake. I have a 52" chest and bought a 2XL the first time, and ended up going with XL after that. Remember, they're supposed to fit like a compression shirt. I would go and try one on for fit and see how you like it. They run around $40 at retail stores.

I wrote a review of one here a while back, and I have been quite satisfied with them. One thing to note, FOLLOW THE WASHING INSTRUCTIONS. If you put it in the dryer on something other than low, it will ruin it. I learned this the hard way after drying it in my apartment's dryer that apparently had a bad temperature adjuster. I'd set it to low, but the dryer decided high was good anyway and the lining/padding was ruined.

Here's my review from last year:

before we make holster recommendations, what do you wear? The clothes you wear determine your holster....

You said that you're a businessman. If you wear a suit and never take off your jacket, the most comfortable holster is the hip holster. Just like the ones cops use....

I strongly reccommend the Crossbreed Supertuck. I have had mine for about 9 months and use the velcro clips and am extreamely pleased with it. I use a single hoster for all three of my Glocks (23, 21, 35). I probably went through more than 20 hosters before I found this one and were it daily 8-14 hrs daily in 95% total comfort.

Remember a hostered weapon is to give comfort...not necessarily be confortable. :mrgreen:

Chas, do you have the large single clip on the Infidel? Just ordered one and should be here in a couple days. Thought that would be good for slipping IWB for quick trips like gas and groceries after being home and taking of the the "rig".

I've used the Infidel a lot for my Kimber Ultra Carry. I found that, with the short barrel gun, the single clip holster moved around a bit more than I liked. I then added the Gurkha Clip option which solved that problem nicely.

I use the large clip, but like Excalber, I also use the Gurkha strut for stability. If I am going to be wearing a suit or sports coat all day, I use a Comp-Tac Minotaur Gladiator belt holster. However, I quit wearing a suit every day long ago and do so now only when I'm going to court. So my Gladiator doesn't get much use, but it's great for people who can wear a belt holster and don't want to have to thread the belt through the holster several times a day. http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.ph ... cts_id=101" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I own two of the ultra-thin kydex Fist holsters and I really like them. I carry a Kahr PM9 in a K3 (also have the pocket holster) and they are totally comfortable. I had the comp-tac, but it took too long to put on. The Fist holsters go on really quickly.

My dad bought a K3 for his Kimber and he really likes his too.

Here's the tuckable model: http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/k1/K4.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
