Among their other features, they're not as bulky as a lot of the others on the market and when not in use they fold up very compactly. This is no small consideration when packing all your range gear.

I also like the fact that if you forget to turn them off - they time out on their own, thus saving your batteries.

I shoot a set of Peltor Tac 6S. I often find that it is not near enough NRR, so if I am indoors at a busy range I use some surefire plugs as well (the surefires also let safe sound pass).

If i knew then what I know now I would've opted for a pricier set with better NRR.

Many rangemasters at our local LE range use MSA/Sordin brand which can round around $300 but they are much superior to the Peltor's I run in terms of amplification, sound suppression and NRR. Pro Ears also makes good ones and Peltor's higher end is competitive is well.

All that said, my next set will be the MSA's.
