Thats funny - has ANYONE seen berms at ANY range that were that high ?

Ive been in Gravel pits that weren't that deep....

Id be tempted to push that issue before I just gave in and let them control my use of my land ....

BUT then again I own less than an acre in the suburbs - So im not that lucky

Sounds like there was a mild case of testosterone poisoning there all said and done...

I'm pretty sure that I heard the call for this on the scanner. Whoever called in on you, claimed you were recklessly shooting & possibly trespassing, etc. I recall them having some trouble finding your location. It seems there were multiple complaints.I heard some later discussions about the required acreage to legally shoot on your own property. Ultimately, the radio chatter basically echoed your story, two males, target practice, etc.
Unfortunately, it does sound like they were flexing their muscles a bit to me. I have a lot of respect for most of them & the job they do, but the stories of overzealous LEOs seem to be on the rise nowadays. I'd make a call to the SD and at least be heard.

Haha tresspassing on my own property, and reckless shooting! I'm glad you got to hear about it seems they had a good reason to take me in. I have a pretty good backstop so I thought. I've been shooting out here for years and noone has complained guess my new ar15 was loud. I also have a lot of respect for them. My brother is a deputy sheriff. I understand they needed to do what they did. First time I've ever really been in fear for my life. I just won't shoot anymore. I was thinking though just bringing in 3 truck loads of dirt and setting up a really high berm but probly not don't want to offend anyone

No offense but I think that is the wrong way to go.

It is your property and it seems that you are in the right to shoot on it. They are just using bullying tactics to scare you. Like I said earlier I would contact the Sheriff/Cheif and a lawyer and sort this out.

I read somewhere that LEOs refer to this as "puppycide"...more evidence that the death of common sense in this country has affected everyone in some way...

Its just another case of the cops not "Protecting and serving" I can understand shooting a wild dog, but I've read case after case of them shooting someones dog (Like Pugs and Poodles) for no reason. Jack Booted thugs in those cases

Sounds more like the tactics of the Feds than local law enforcement. Wannabes.

I made the comment I wont shoot anymore in my backyard just due to the fact that being able to shoot firearms is one thing, but when you have them pointed at you a lot of things go through your mind. The biggest thing is when I heard something right up beside my house I could have grabbed my gun to check out whatever it was. I could have died! Having firearms as a hobby is cool, but everything went out the window when It could have killed me. When your not doing anything wrong you don't exactly expect the police to show up and point so many guns at you. It also reminded me about gun safety and the 10 commandments. Ill come back around but its like I'm picking up firearms for the first time and starting from scratch

This brings up a good point... Always look to see who is on the other side of the door before you open it.
