I'm sorry who are you?
Did I mention my Father and Step brother were Marines? I believe I did.
I meant no disrespect to the Marine Corp, and respect them greatly. My Older Sister owes Marines for keeping her safe while she flew Cargo Drops to Troops in the mountains of Afghanistan (she's Airforce (Their Soldiers too). But Marines are Soldiers. They dont like to be called Soldiers because it makes it seem like they are similar to the Army and seeing as the Marine Corp has almost ended because it was deemed "Too Much like the Army" by Brainless Generals and Polticos through the years, I can see the Marines making a case that "they aren't soldiers" as a way to distance themselves from the Army.

Also just to prove you wrong

Oh just to rub it in

I like purple hood, I dont think he would leave because some punk like me ribbed him about the Marines, and to say that he did is disrespectful of his Status Here.
I'll accept your apology.

I am not going to speculate but there are several viable reasons to do that. I have myself and have known others that have "purged" during job searches, because of too much time on the net, unsolicited contacts, etc. Unless he tells us why, then we probably ought not speculate and just wish him well.

God Bless you and yours Purple Hood, Semper Fi...if an old army dog can say that ;-)

I kinda thought it might be something along those lines as well.

I have a really funny but really not forum appropriate about a guy who had to go before the Texas Bar Board for his internet, er um...activities.

I work with Purplehood and just want to let you know he is alive and well and still lerks around on the forum. He is not a spook (that I know of :mrgreen: ) nor did he deactivate himself from the forum due to CHL or work related issues. He has a personal issue about certain aspects of the forum and we'll leave it at that.

So - behave yourselves, his voice might be silent but the eyes of Purplehood are upon you. :patriot:

He seems to be Marty Graw and seems to be a member of the forum and to further our education lesson of the day I will educate you a lil bit ...here are common terms used by the military in which I believe Marty Graw was referencing.

Army = Soldiers = Ground Pounders
Air Force = Airmen = Chair Force
Navy = Seamen = Squids
Marines = Marines = Jarheads

Yes, every servicemember is a "Soldier" by definition and we are ALL equal but some take offense to being called a soldier as it is common practice to associate soldier with the Army!
