Not being a rabid feminist, I also have to admit for some reason the more ambitious female manager is hard to take. If you think they are hard on the guys, you should see what they dish to any women they see as rivals.

Holy Cow, you are so right! I've got to agree with you guys about most women bosses. I hate working for women...and for the most part, I don't like working with women. That's why I choose to work in a male dominated field.

Ya know they tell you as a valued and seasoned emplyee you should mentor and counsel newer ones, but the truth of the matter is if you do your backside gets in trouble for excess socialization. Flipside is if you don't you are not a team player.

Truth of the matter is in many cases after you have imparted your wealth of knowledge you are expendable and can be replaced at a third of the money plus you are a threat if there i incompetance above.

Ever hear of the Dilbert Principle? I think it sounds more fitting in this situation.

A pocket voice recorder is an option.
Save the audio file, then make a transcript for that file you are keeping

I guess I'm fortunate. Family-owned business, nobody jacks with me, including the owner. (He's the only one that's worked here longer)
I'm a bit concerned about the grandkids though ;)

I don't think so. You can't record another conversation, but you can record your own whether the other person knows it or not.
