She's a beaut!

Yes, definitely post a range report.

As someone looking for a high quality 1911, how did you choose the Nighthawk over other 1911s?

IMO, there is not really a difference in quality between Nighthawk and Wilson Combat. Once again, IMO, I consider these two companies to be top of the line in semi-custom pistols and both have outstanding customer support so I only considered purchasing from one of the two. With that in mind I looked at both the CQB and the Talon. If you look at the standard features that you get with a Talon it compares more with the CQB Elite but quite a bit less. So it really came down to bang for the buck. I got some nice extras with the Talon that I would not have with the CQB, (Blended magwell, checkered end of slide, and serated slide top, to name a few).

I did go over to the range today at lunch and ran 250 rounds through the Nighhawk. I'm a member of the pistol club there so I have access to all the targets, steel plates, and poppers. I set up a run similar to what we would run in our monthly matches. I'm happy to report that the gun ran flawlessly. My shooting was more on the move and mainly to practice tactical reloads so I don't have a real bullseye target to show here. My loaded is at a smith right now being worked on because it will nose the first round of an eight round mag into the feed ramp doing a tactical reload. That was the main thing I wanted to test with this new gun and like I said it was flawless even using all the same mags that I used with my loaded. Needless to say, I'm very happy.
