Re: spotted twice wearing tucked holster
Did they change something recently (within the past year)? My Crossbreed clips don't have anything on them.

I use these from Comp-Tac with good results:

I have the brown ones, which match a tan belt pretty well. Puts all the weight on the belt.

Yep, yep. That's what I use. I got the J-Clips and C-Clips confused in my earlier post.
Re: spotted twice wearing tucked holster
I may order some of the C-clips from Comp-Tac to put on my Crossbreed Supertucks...that really WOULD make it a Crossbreed!

Re: spotted twice wearing tucked holster
I have yet to spot anyone wearing a Crossbreed or M-Tac. I wear my Crossbreed regularly, and I know that the clips are a dead giveaway to anyone who carries. I always carry with an untucked shirt, but I usually wear 5.11 clothes as they cover well. Once one of my buddies, who is a firefighter, asked me if I had a CHL, because he noticed I wear 5.11 shirts and cargo pants. He told me he never noticed a gun, and that he had been looking, but that no one would wear that brand if they were not carrying. So I guess in a way I was outed.
It just goes back to Austinrealtor's original point. People in the know are going to be able to spot us based on brands and visible clips, but I don't worry about it. The people who notice us will be other CHL'ers and cops. I don't think that would be a problem as long as we are careful to be in compliance and follow the law.

Teamless: go here: http://www.511tactical.com/Shop" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Lots of retailers sell their stuff, LA Police Gear is my favorite. http://www.lapolicegear.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As for the OP -- I have used V clips with my CTAC for three years for exactly the problem in the OP -- belt clips say "gun" to anyone the least bit alert. The Vclips are not only far more "hidden," I think they are much more secure than any of the other clips. I keep the belt snug, and that holster does not move a fraction. I velcroed a black belt and a brown-tannish belt, and am good to go.

Biggest issue for me with velcro clips was actually how "well" they stuck!!! I'd pull the velcro off in several areas - self adhesive to my belt! I know - should sew into belt, but these adhesives were incredibly strong - just not enough! The bond is huge - was a piece of work removing every night or so...
I would prefer to use velcro clips more than anything, but the convenience factor with regular clips was just a huge difference! On and off in about 3 seconds by just having clips go right over belt! Figured I'd rather wear shirt untucked if worried about clips showing - rather than continue with velcro option.
Wore C clips for over a month and they were fine, but simply not as "convenient" as regular clips. With young ones in house and things, want to be quick with putting on and/or taking off w/out being seen... Then the questions come...

I glued the velcro strips to my belts, and it has worked out OK. I have to reglue them every few months, but not a biggie. In the future I will get them sewn in, but it hasn't annoyed me enough to go do that yet.

Do you still have your C clips? Care to let a fellow Cedar Parker try them out so I'll know for sure if I want to order some?G26TR wrote:Biggest issue for me with velcro clips was actually how "well" they stuck!!! I think they did. Mine originally came with just some kydex clips that fit over the belt. At some point, they started sending them with the same kind of clip, but made of metal.Fangs wrote:Did they change something recently (within the past year)? My Crossbreed clips don't have anything on them.

I think they started putting their logo on the clips too. Good advertising for them but when I'm trying to conceal I don't want to be a walking ad.KC5AV wrote:I think they did. Here's a pic I found.

Re: spotted twice wearing tucked holster
I use the Comp-Tac / Minotaur MTAC with the V-clips 1.5" or 1.25", the C-clips that came were a pain after i got them. I bought a comp-tac belt 1.5" and added velcro I picked up from Hobby Lobby (4 inch wide cut in half). I have had no glue malfunctions, but I tend to separate the clip and belt with care so it doesn't damage the bond.
I just looked at the clips to see what sizes they carry, mine are not listed so I think i ordered some closeout clips for less $ as what they show today have a much smaller face with the velcro on it. They look more stealthy and should be hard to see at all.

I like the 5.11 cargo pants
Today I was wearing dress pants with my kahr in a supertuck and noticed a guy at Bonedaddys with Green 5.11 cargo pants.
He was trying to hide the holster bulge with a leatherman. Sorta worked - I guess ... I laughed at myself, knowing that anytime I wear those pants its as much a give away ... I guess the pair I bought from NRA with the NRA logo on the strap over the back packet are even worse ... LOL

Yep, sure do. Let's plan to meet at Eagle Peak this weekend if you're available. I'll PM you perhaps Friday evening to come up with day & time. Of course, if you'd rather not meet at range, let me know via PM and we can make other arrangements.austinrealtor wrote:Do you still have your C clips? I agree with OP about velcro clips though - if you can get a belt specially made w/velcro sewed in, it would likely be best option. The latest velcro model they have (which I have) will also allow a bit (maybe 1/4 of 1/5 distance between standard holes) deeper concealment given position of holes on lowest setting.
All 3 are great clips - no doubt. However, I'm just now much more paranoid with cuffed & stuffed story. And the clips are the "first" thing to draw some attention - then the long stairs towards what "might" be underneath - then, low & behold, all stars align and at some point, the outline of a Glock underneath! If you're considering to order 1 more, it's worth it to go ahead and order the velcro too - as well as an extra $5 hardward kit (as I did) just in case screws loosen or strip... Don't want to pay shipping & handling too many times
