I carry a 1911 and in my front pocket S&W 340PD in a Galco Holster. After about 15 rounds of .357 it tends to hurt. .38 you could shoot all day. I shoot both and carry the .357 rounds. It weighs very little. I wear suits most of time and it carry's nice.

I used to carry a G36 (the Glock, not the H&K!) IWB during summer, a Springfield XD 4" OWB during winter, and a P3AT pocket or ankle when I needed to play dress up.
Now that I've moved from Lubbock to Houston, my wardrobe has changed, and I am doing pocket carry 90% of the time. But, I'm carrying a S&W 642 - not the P3AT. Why? A few reason: 1) It shoots much better than my P3AT; 2) It jams less than my P3AT; 3) It's more powerful than my P3AT; 4) It's much easier to draw from the pocket and ankle than the P3AT.
I thought the 642 would be huge in my pocket, but it's really not. It hides pretty well in Gap jeans and most cargo & Polo style shorts. I use a Desantis Nemesis or cheap Uncle Mikes pocket holster. It did not work out so well in Wrangler jeans. FWIW, the ankle rig is a Galco Ankle Glove.
For me it boiled down to having a far more reliable, powerful, and easier to draw & shoot weapon in a package that was only slightly larger than the P3AT.
I've tried a ton of holsters and clothing combos with the 642, so just ask if you have a specific question.

All 3 of those are good choices.
I carry a P32 Kel-Tec, same size as the P3AT, a little lighter.
It's no cannon, but it carries in anything short of a Speedo.
I also have a P11. Right now it's locked in the console of my car. It's a little bigger than I can carry comfortably. Maybe when it gets colder.
I plan on buying a 642 next, and maybe a P3AT. I figure my wife will end of with one of the small KelTecs.
Face it, you'll have all 3 before long :)

Well, I stopped by Sportsman's Warehouse on the way home today with the hopes of handling the P11 and P3AT. Unfortunately they don't sell Kel-Tecs.
While I was there I figured I might as well handle a few others though. For the first time ever I picked up an XD. It was a compact 9mm. WOW. That gun felt really good in my hands. It pointed so naturally. I've heard people talk about how Glocks don't point naturally and I never really agreed with that until today when I picked up that XD. When it came up the 3 dots were already lined up. With my Glocks the front dot is always higher and I have to adjust. As much as I love my Glocks I may have to try out an XD someday.
Anyway, still no decision but after handling another J frame I think I'll probably stick with one of the small pistols.
Gotta head to bed now. My CHL renewal class starts early in the morning.

When I can't carry my Glock 36, I drop back to the S&W 342PD in my front pocket. It is light and comfortable. I feel somewhat underarmed carrying a .38SP+P, and would feel way underarmed carrying a .380 or even a 9mm. I know that those rounds have their merits, but to me, .45ACP is the standard.

In a pair of pants with big pockets I pack a Steyr S9 in the rt ft pocket. I can have my hand on it without illegal display or alarming the bed wetters.
