It's easy to armchair this stuff, but tactics are tactics.
Holding the flashlight in his gun hand was a serious tactical mistake.
Glad the officer is okay.

I thought the cop was a lefty until he dropped the flashlight to draw his gun.

Last night I heard my backyard gate swing open and my Mag Light was in my left hand and my Bersa UC9 was in my right while I secured my backyard.

I try to keep in mind that things like this happen to police officers, so anything I can do to make them feel easier will (hopefully) make a traffic stop easier on all parties. I don't think average joe/jane who gets pulled over and thinks an officer is being mean/rude for getting demanding on actions/hand placement for a small infraction realizes that for a police officer getting shot on a routine stop is, however unlikely, a very real possibility. Glad this officer made it out alive. Although, I think I would be needing a new pair of underwear after that...

Fifteen shots went by awful fast. Not that I am going to be pulling over armed-drunk drivers, but I may have to reconsider my carry gun and get a Glock and carry an extra magazine.
