I once bought about 10 boxes worth of .45 and they didnt ask. so being the type of person i am, I just kinda laughed and then showed her my chl. She said I didnt look 21 so thats why i was carded.its not a big deal just strange.
For me when they ask for ID is to see if I qualify for seniors discount.

I'm 30, and I was asked for ID when buying a block of .22.
After the guy looked at my license and stared at it for several seconds, he asked "What's it for?" and I said "Rifle."
He said "Good Answer"
I'm wondering if he may have subtracted 1980 from 2010 incorrectly and thought I was 20.
People tell me I look young though, so I guess it's possible.

Doesn't that just make your blood boil when you get all those AARP ads in the mail? I'm 61 and the wife says I'm just at that "awkward age". Too young for the pretty girls to fawn over.
When I became a police Chaplain, the pretty young secretary doing the background checks and paperwork asked me if my birthdate was BTV or ATV! Before TV or after.
I just now realized what you guys said (too early, no coffee yet). You can actually get carded at Walmart when you buy handgun ammo? WOW ... I'm off to the Wonderful World of Wally.

You can get carded when buying a lighter... I found this out on the 4th of July once when I was 17 and HEB wouldn't sell me my desired incendiary product.
