Three racks of fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs on the Weber Smokey Mountain, complemented by some home concocted BBQ sauce(s), grilled corn on the cob, cole slaw and ranch style beans to go with a couple of nice cold Miller Lites. Watermelon for dessert.

Today I restart my diet! :patriot:

Pretty sad if I thought about it.
Ah college, how I miss thee.

I have nights like that when my wife is out of town and I don't feel like getting dishes dirty for just myself.

Nothing special to eat today. Brats and Mac-n-Cheese for lunch. Salad for dinner. However ... I did spend it with my wife and daughter.

I was watching a link, Gene Simmons doing a tribute to each of the branches of the military, my dad sent me and my eight year old daughter asked me why I still watched things like that since I'm not still in The Navy. She asked me what I did in The Navy. We talked about that for a little while. She asked a lot of questions that I was, thankfully, able to answer truthfully. I explained to her what Memorial Day is about and she asked if I knew anyone that died while I was in. Other than doing my job, electronics tech on F14's, which had its own risks, I did not serve during wartime. I did, however, lose a few friends. Some to work related mishaps and a couple to non-military related accidents.

She gave me the biggest hug and thanked me. She didn't say what for and I'm not sure she has any idea either, but it brought me to tears thinking about how proud I was to have served and for all others who have served to give my daughter the freedom she enjoyed today.

Tonight's Menu : Tomato and cheese sandwich with BBQ potato chips.

Not a five star meal but it fills the hole.
