Well, from a legal stand point, if it says it in your handbook, it is legal and enforceable.
Does not have to be the 30.06 wording, a simple "No guns" will suffice.

My company does not have it in the handbook but has told us that we cannot carry here either. So if I am (and I am not) I can be fired for it.
But I do keep it in the car, which they allow.

If its in the employee manual, it is "written communication", and must be the 30.06 wording in order to be legally enforceable (i.e. charged with a crime). See 30.06(c)(3)(A). Any wording is sufficient to get you fired.

That's the way I understood it. I could get reprimanded or fired here, but it's not illegal.
