It depends on the neighbor. I would do more for a stranger than some of my neighbors.

In years past I volunteered my community with my fire department, so I have "helped me neighbor" is a few of those ways.
Run into a burning building
Walked actually
Wade into floodwaters
It was a hurricane, really would have rather waded instead of being blown around
Give him CPR
Many times
