I'm with you on that one (but I got vetoed) :(
That's alright. The next time we fire up the BBQ, you and the missus will have to come over and join us. I'm pretty sure I can make a believer out of her.

She's not a vegetarian or anything, is she?

Does it have any sort of provision for using the gas to get the charcoal going?
No. I have a smoker on a trailer that has the gas feed for the smoker.

That's exactly what I have! I added the smoker box off to the side of the charcoal chamber. I love the grill! It has worked flawlessly for me for about 2 years now. There are modifications you can make to it as well, to enhance smoke saturation and heat disbursement.

All in all, it was the best money I have spent on a grill. Gas on the weekdays when time is limited, charcoal when I want the flavor and have the time to slow cook!
:tiphat:
I've been lookin at one of those. Glad y'all both like it. Might have to pick up one soon. Where'd you find best deal?

Academy had the best price. I believe Lowes has them now too. There is a "new" version called the Char Griller Trio, but all it does is add the smoke box. It was $249 without the smoke box. $299 with it.

I don't even want to tell y'all what mine cost. It's a little embarrassing. But, it is the best smoker grill I've ever owned, and it will last the rest of my life.

This is how I do it. Didn't even cost me anything. My neighbor was moving and didn't want to deal with it.

Can't beat a free LifeTyme Pit. I have one that my dad gave me when he moved also. He got if for payment for wiring a house in the 80's. Just had it refinished about 2 years ago, so its like brand new. One day I guess my kids will have it. Better start working on the having kids part of that equation.

And it was almost new when she gave it to me. I don't luck out very often but I did that day.

Thank you Carlson but i shall have to decline the offer. Used to do competition quite a bit and have cooked on several high dollar pits thru the years. This is by far the best i ever saw and would buy one if i had to. Have had 14 briskets and 12lbs of sausage on it at one time and all came out perfect. Its a keeeper.
