I still have the first gen iphone (jailbroken) and the only thing that's "wrong" with it is the speakers are quieter than when I first got it, my wife still has the first gen iphone too and hers works perfectly. But when I get the money we're both upgrading to the Iphone 4
Prob. because most of us went through 2+ full charges per day and shot our batteries to hell lol

AT&T has lousy phone sevice around here, I don't think much of Steve Jobs' bussiness practices, and I only want to talk on my phone. don't do the text thing.
So I won't likely be buying a new Iphone an old Iphone or any Icrap.

iPhone 4 has faster processors, more RAM, and higher res screen. In addition to the added cameras, flash, gyroscope and compass. Better antenna as it's wired into the case.

Easy sell for me. I'm on the list.

that too lol, I heard it has double the ram of the iPad. The camera is a big deal for me.

I need to research antennas, if you put a dent in one I wonder if it works the same. I need to take a class on it.

Just got my 16G 3GS 4 months ago. I would upgrade ASAP if I didn't have to pay full price.

I have a few hundred songs on mine, but no video and only a few additional apps. I still have about 12G of space available. The wife has the same setup and we both love them.

My latest apps are "Words with Friends" (scrabble) and Hangman. Been having a lot of fun with both.

Same with me, I have the first gen 8GB iPhone, I usually have to charge it nightly because I use the internet and email quite a bit. I've people have had more problems with the 3G and 3Gs phones, but will probably be getting the iPhone 4 as soon as the early adopters find all the bugs.

Odd that you mention that, since that's about equal in my book. I preferred the way my Blackberry handled file storage / media playback. Though the iPhone wins hands down for web surfing.

My only gripe with the iPhone over the BB is with calendar invites that have conference bridges and passcodes. You can dial the number from within the invite, but you cannot 'dial' the passcode like you could with the BB. Other than that, the iPhone wins hands down.

My 3G is worth $200 or more on the used market
The upgrade to V4 is $216.00
V4 is better in almost every respect.

Easy decision for me.

BTW, I like to read books. With an ebook reader (Stanza) on my iPhone, I ALWAYS have a book to read. Right now I have about 20 novels on my phone, including several 1000-page epics. Life is good.

Just received notice that my I will get my iPhone a day early on the 23rd WOOT!....

I'm glad I stay at the house that day. I didn't want to have to sign a signature waiver that lets apple (and I assume FedEx) off the hook for theft. I am unhappy that Apple wouldn't let me ship it to one of our businesses. I live so far out in the sticks I doubt they can find my house. I called and left them special instructions but I still doubt they can find my house.

Well, I'm kind of hoping apple will be nice and considerate. I mean its what they are known for right? ......... :cryin

Maybe I'll luck out, I have a friend who might be able to help me get it activated, I'll have to give them a call if I can't.

I'm just excited wondering about what there will be in 20 months when I'm eligible for an upgrade.

I'm waiting for my contract with AT&T to expire then I'm switching to an Android phone - and another carrier.

I drop calls like crazy with AT&T and am tired of it.
